RARE Epiphyllum Guatamalense - Orchid Cactus

Product Description

Epiphyllum Guatamalense; It is member of the Orchid Cactus family (its flowers emerge from the leaf-like structure). Also a night blooming variety, this specific variety is prized for its low maintenance, easy-care requirements. Furthermore, the contorted leaves are prized in contemporary displays in any setting preference. Small white flowers emerge from the leaves towards the end of summer, and the plant does sometimes produce seeded fruits that ripen to a beautiful bright pink coloration.
The plant is an easy plant to grow, loving dry conditions and some direct light. The leaves are contorted/curl and have spines only on the margins at the indentations. The mature Night Blooming Cereus is an intermittent bloomer. Although not sought for their flower structure this variety is well known for its unusual growth and contemporary looks.
The flowers are pure white in color. The blooms open as soon as the sun goes down and stay open all night, closing in the morning.
This plant does exceptional indoors (and are great for hanging baskets). Water regularly but do not over water. Outdoors, it is hardy in zone 10 (minimum night temperatures of 35 degrees).
